I looked it up, Neal Adams did comic books for DC comics, Superman, Batman and Green Arrow. Arguably the top illustrator for DC at the time would be working on those characters.

Neal Adams is the artist that redesigned the green arrow character in comics and was the one who help introduce a tougher more realistic Batman in the 70s.
