In my opinion Freddy Ortiz was one of the best bodybuilders from the 1960’s but he barely gets any recognition at all.

I like hearing about the old timers. I’v seen these guys in the mags years ago and it brings back memories.
I'm sure that was him on on the original Weider workout charts with my first weights set….a great physique that wasn't nt totally out of reach to mere mortals…..
Those arms at 2:25 insane for his time.
this was awesome..loved that freddy got attention by you Nick..thank you
I remembered reading about Freddy Ortiz back in the '60s. Those were the days of classic Body Builders. Thanks, Nick I really enjoy your site keep it going.
thank you Nick. this guy is what every bodyuilder should aspire to look like. virtually perfect
He's better than Arnold Schwarzenegger and Arnold copied the side chest from Ortiz
He was quite good for that era
Thank-you for helping bring back the Classic look in bodybuildring. Freddie was glorious!!
Great to see Freddie I. Remember Don mc ardele and Don Peters and a young vince tanny Jr. With. Huge triceps and Bill Smith they all trained. At. Gironders gym
His vaccum is deep
wow he surely deserves credit
Only placed second? Thats not bad to me
2 of my favorite bodybuilders. Larry Scott and Freddy " the moose " Ortiz. Great times
After reading the encyclopedia of body building by Arnold Schwarzenegger in high school I was introduced to so many bodybuilders of the era prior to his … amazing
there's a vintage photo of Freddie Oritz and Larry Scott from the 60s that is just awesome https://www.reddit.com/r/bodybuilding/comments/cgv4wi/freddy_ortiz_and_larry_scott/
Scott was 5'7. it appears Ortiz is shorter than 5'6
Beautiful physique, reminds me of Delinger.
Hi Nick. I'm from India. Your videos are very informative and it gives a lot of motivation to me. Keep doing these videos.
Is he a natural body builder and is it possible to develop a similar physique by eating natural food and working out?
That’s how bodybuilders should look…
Guy has half of his delts like those of an untrained individual. That is lack of knowledge wich is fine given the context. He has a great physique regardless.
Freddy had nice long lats (good insertion points) and a square chest. It seems like modern day bodybuilders are now predisposed with higher lats insertion points that ruins the aesthetics of what a good V-taper should look like.
Forgot about him
He was epic đź‘‘
I believe it was 1970 that I saw him guest pose at a event in Dayton Ohio,he was such a inspiration to all of us short Body Builders. Also a great guy
Was impressed and identified with him as a teen in the 60's thru Weider's mags. because I am 5'5' also and could see what can be accomplished thru hard work. Saw an update not too long ago with him working out with his son, still in great shape. Weider; in those days, was located in NJ where I'm from. I believe, a lot of strongmen : Ortiz, Draper, etc. were more regional at that time and not as nationally well known. When Joe brought Arnold over, everyone else took 2nd place for his attention.
Great video. I forgot about Freddy. He was ahead of his time.
When I'm watching your videos I became hungry for more. You're doing really great job. Keep it up.Greetings.
I don't think he ever competed with Panny Padilla
