Sorry Mr. Moger that is what happens when you sign a contract with bodybuilding.com. You released all the photo and your name when you did the program several years ago.

I gave up on BB.com years ago. Too many knuckleheads. Useless.

Bodybuilding.com has started doing that to all the use to be free programs. F&@$ bodybuilding.com

"A six week plan I did with them two years ago". << Legally speaking, they probably own the content and can re-package it and sell it as they see fit. It would really come down to the contract they signed with him. Ethically speaking, that's beyond lame and will hurt them more than it helps and they need to compensate everyone whose name they are using or re-up the contract like professionals. Yet another straw on a dying camel's back. Sad day.

Bodybuilding .com is not the reputable company they used to be especially since other places like Tiger Fitness are killing their business.

Wow that's pretty egregious. Maybe Bodybuildingdotcom have found a fair use loop hole, or Calum's management sold his likeness rights behind his back.

Didn’t he actually say that he did in fact do this with them, but it was 2 years ago… he doesn’t currently do this workout anymore.

It almost sounded to me as if he may not have read the fine print of a contract OR, BB.com failed to understand what they purchased.

I am sure a court will sort this out quickly.

There must have been some thing in the fine print to allow this albeit hidden and sneak because they wouldn’t open themselves to a blatantly obvious law suit.

the guy is dumb…they probably made him sign a contract he never read . I bet the app stays up.

I feel like of calum worked with them 2 years ago on something then hr surely signed a release agreement stating some sort of permission to use his image and bb.com may still be covered by it.

Quick comment. He said he did do a plan with them 2 years ago that was free and that is what’s in the app. He needs the check if he signed a waiver in perpetuity to use his likeness when he did the plan with them previously. Perhaps I misheard what he said in the video. A little due diligence with his lawyer and I’m sure it will be sorted out. Many times when you do something for “free” when you are building your brand you may not realize that the fine print has the waiver clause. That’s standard operating procedure. What he developed through them (BB.com) or for them typically would become theirs. (BB.com) not bagging Calum or this post AT ALL just commenting on what Calum says in the video. 👍🏼

Pretty sure Callum said in the snap that he did the program with bodybuilding.com two years ago…that means he would have signed off on it when he did it originally, which I’m sure would have had in the fine print that all content and likeness could be used at any point should bodybuilding.com wish…they’re a huge company they don’t make little mistakes like this…is it shady that Callum doesn’t get paid? Ya! But that would have been his own fault in not reading any paperwork that was presented to him 2 years ago…

I don't know if it's a change in policy but bb.com has been charging for workout programs which were previously free for everyone to download and use.

Reply
Mark Johnston July 10, 2018 - 10:40 am

steve cook recently mentioned this in one of his youtube videos as they have done the same to him using his image and his plans that he made but now they are charging people without his knowledge

Reply
Manny Manster October 2, 2018 - 5:15 pm

He probably signed away the rights of all the stuff he did for bodybuilding.com when he did the “free” stuff for them long ago including his name association with the workouts. If that’s the case, BB.com is still sneaky, but calum should realize he’s just being a whiny bitch and is birthing they are legally taking advantage of him
