yea I really messed up my muscle mass.
It's false srs, i tried the 2method: cutting 500cal/day which mean losing 1pound/week
And tried to cut 1000cal/day +cardio (which was around 2.5 – 3pounds/week)
And got better results with the second option
But my diet was strict af with 250g protein/day
I'm bulking rn and ill cut in may and June (8 weeks) I'm judging that I wont have to loose any more than 16 pounds (1 pound per week) but if it takes longer it takes longer. If I get too fat eg in February or March ill mini cut then keep going… when I cut ill reduce from 2650 calories to about 2,300 with one session of cardio for month one and two sessions for month two, may increase or decrease carbs slightly in that time frame depending on where I'm at. I'll obviously have deload weeks and refeed days included also. If I misjudge and end up taking 10 weeks then meh that's life. However you don't see me saying I'm going to do all this in like, 2 weeks. Be realistic ppl.

Its pretty brash (standard american i guess) to claim being on a keto diet are retards. I'm not on the diet myself but ive researched it a fair bit and it dosn't seem retarded at all. In fact it works for a lot of people. Kinda lost all my respect with that idiotic comment Omar.

I think you can prevent the muscle loss by continuing to lift hard during the calorie deficit, what that does is tell your body that muscles are still needed. I'm sure what you describe is what would happen to a person who is sedentary. But just theorizing. I could be totally wrong.
HOLY SHYT WTF. THANKS MAN. LISTEN MAN IN MID DECEMBER (SINCE EARLY OCTOBER) 2016 I WENT FROM 316 LBS 40% BF TO 287 LBS 40% BF. MY TDEE WENT DOWN TO 2700 CALORIES (FROM 3300) SO I LOWERED MY ENERGY BALANCE TO 2000 CALORIES AS OF. BEGINNING THIS YEAR (2017) ON THE FIRST DAY I'VE BEEN HITTING THE GYM ON A CUTTING ROUTINE AND HAVE LOST AN ADDITIONAL 7LBS (DUE TO MEAL PLANNING) BUT MY MEASUREMENTS SHOW THAT IM NOW AT 280 LBS @40% BF. LIKE WTF REALLY. NOW I HAVE MADE A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF STRENGTH GAINS FOR SURE. ALL WITHIN A MONTH (EX) I START SQUATING 70 LBS (1RM) NO BS AND NOW IM AT 215 LBS (1RM). PLUS IM SEEING A POSITIVE OUTLINE ON MY SILHOUETTE. EITHER MY MEASUREMENTS AND FORMULAS ARE WRONG OR MY CALORIES NEED ADJUSTMENT. SO I MEAN FROM WHAT YOU'RE SAYING IS THAT IM TOO LOW ON MY CALORIES. I SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 500 DEFECIT BUT I WENT DOWN A FULL 700. PLUS IM AT A 50% (PRT), 30% (FAT), 20% (CHO). SO I DONT GET IT WHY AM I NOT SHREDDING FAT. if you are working out your body will burn the fat first. it adapts. your body wouldnt burn the muscle its trying to adapt to make stronger unless there was no fat

Dropping to 1800 kcal is No problem on a mini cut. This way you only have to cut for two weeks (No metabolism changement). Refeed in the weekend and drop 6lbs within 12 days:). Then lean bulk again for two months or so. Good life.
