Nick, in my opinion you are a very good guy! You always there for the people. But this time you did not mention life after Bodybuilding. What if something happens in the future and they become sick. Who will pay for the damage that may have been done due to the health risks? That's why I think it's ONLY fair for them at least to earn more money. Most people in the comment sectioon did not even address this issue. How selfish can one be????

A "big lenny" division would garner more money and be probably more entertaining, but seriously it seems like there are so many divisions now, it's a little confusing. I would be very interested to see the metrics on how many people are watching which division for the online stream.

Agree totally, loads of interest in classic physique, the big fellas are getting decent money, and deservedly so, but the contestants in the other categories are working their butts off also, I hope the extra 200k is shared amongst them.

If they want more they have to got to do more than pose on stage. All that muscle means jack shit if you don’t have the strength to back it up. Can you imagine how big these shows would be if they had to do competitive lifting with it, like the strong man comps? It would widen the appeal ten fold.

You forget they're just getting paid for flexing and that they get a significant bonus from their sponsors if they win. Shawn Rhoden got a $5,000 per month advertising bonus from his sponsor. Most top level bodybuilders make $100,000 a year and up with free food, free gyms, free equiptment and apparel and supplements and even free drugs and trainers. So pretty much solid profit. Sponsors pay for pretty much everything.

Mens physique pays for all this bullshit because most of those pretty boys are competing for free after prep cost…Ifbb is so smart…they know how many mens physique boys make nothing but keep paying and paying to compete for vanity….now they can start cranking up prize money for real bodybuilding on the backs of the pretty boys who will always compete no matter what..College kids on every campus are training for mens physique…smart business….not the smartest college kids…but smart business by IFBB.

Think that's a joke as far as a pay out go look and see what they get paid at all the other shows!! The open winner of the Arnold classic get $130k which is not to bad but it all goes down hill from there!!! Most other pro shows the open gets a whopping $10,000 for first and the 212 $3,000!!!! Talk about a disgrace!! The NY Pro is suppose to be one of the best shows and equivalent to the Arnold ( which by the way sucks) well In 2017 the first place open Sergio got $12,000 and the 212 $3,000!!! That's ridiculous!!!

Not for nothing but the girls should not get what they get, ( I believe the winners of bikini, figure, fitness and physique get $28,000 I have to check but it was that if not close) they get paid more then the guys in most classes!! Lets be real here, how much work do they really put in compared to the men?? Especially the bikini girls?? It takes years for most guys to look the way they do and well the girls?? I know some that are almost stage ready and all they have to do is train and some light dieting for only a short period of time to look the way they do so how can you give them more or the same for some amount of money for some of the men's classes?? Something is definitely wrong!

That’s way too fucking low. Now with so much global coverage Mr. Olympia’s total prize money should be 10 times more instead of what it is rightnow. Body building as a sport has to be among the lowest in terms of returns a winner gets after winning a championship or a show. Sponsorship and everything other materialistic aspects are secondary.
