How about alcohol impacting testosterone?

How long after a heavy protein meal would everything be optimally absorbed to have some brews, which will stop the protein synthesis?

I love to drink, and do so fairly frequently, but it is very detrimental to gains. A heavy episode of drinking dehydrates you, and also destroys my appetite.  I'm making awesome strength gains, but my growth has been flat since I started going out more lately.   I am coming from the perspective of a smaller guy working towards packing on muscle.

that is bullshit limit your binge drinking days this is what it is alcohol and fitness do not mix even if you drink 1 beverage it will ruin your gains drinking does so many negative things to your body if you want to get the best gains cut it out dont drink at all honest it will turn your muscle into fat  if you think you can drink and build muscle then your has dumb as these to guys in this video fucking morons

My strength went up ridiculously during a period of time where I drank a bottle of wine a day. From a 300lb deadlift to 500lb deadlift in the space of 6 months. I AM young though, and I DO have really good genetics, and I do not doubt that it HAS affected my gains somewhat negatively, but I have to say that at the same time I HAVE gotten gains, GREAT gains, INSANELY great gains, natural too, so I'm pretty sure that alcohol will not suddenly kill all your gains. That is, IF you keep working out as hard as you would without drinking. That is IF you eat as well as you would without drinking. Heck, I was working out TOO MUCH, and had to take breaks due to overtraining, and my diet was as good as possible. The REASON I drank too much and the REASON I trained too much was EXACTLY THE SAME. I was (am) dealing with a lot of shit in my life and I deal with it in ways that may or may not be healthy. All I know is that I have to deal with a lot of shit and as soon as even HALF of that shit is dealt with, the first thing that is going out of the window is the alcohol.

I miss the college days where I could drink 12+ beers and then go have a killer workout the next day 🙁

Now, drinking anything more than 5 drinks makes me a useless bastard the next day 😛

What about premixed spirits? That are mixed with coke do those carbs affect you're body composition and cause weight gain?

Omar you nearly ruined this video. You're on with the goat and you can't shut your mouth for two seconds. No one cares to hear your one liners.

Alcohol eats up time. If you drink to get obliterated, you better make up for the time you waste getting sober. Or else you won't be happy in life. I drink all the time but sometimes, you have to put a limit to it or you'll feel like shit, physically and mentally.

alcohol has a huge net metabolic caloric value its almost twice as much as carbs and protein it has 7 cal per gram while protein and carbs have 4 and fat has 9 but it still has a huge net metabolic value

Please answer this shit with a graph or something: how exactly does alcohol affect protein synthesis? Would 1/2 beers have a detrimental effect on the gains from my workout the day before and/or the day after? Thanks!

before i drink alcohol.
i had to eat 1g protein/pound of bodyweight. so for me almost 200 gram.
than wait half an houre before drinking. Drink 0.5g alcohol/2.1 pounds of body weight. So for me 100 ml vodka. drink one glass of water for every glass of alcohol.
after coming home eat some protein with carbs again then rest 20 min and go to sleep for 8 to 9 hours.
this way you won't lose any (minimal) strength.

I drink heavily once in a week in every friday. I mean i get hammerd. As my age goes by, hangovers got worse and worse. Until a point that I cant turn back to gym until tuesday. However I dont agree that alcohol ONLY affects your will power / judgement / self control or whatever. When I turn back to gym I feel shrinked and weaker. Even though he talked about the results of scientific researches in the video, I experience more than just "fuck it" attitude. Because I dont touch food the night I drink or I dont drink sugary coctails whatnut. Mostly stick with vodka-mineral water and lemon or whiskey. However I feel fatter & weaker following 2 or 3 days after I drink. Feels like there must be more. Anybody else feels this way?

Sometimes you can get up ripped and lean after a night of medium consumption of spirits like vodka and gin. These clear alcohol are better than whiskey and rum….drink vodka with cran and water gin with tonic water and eat small meal before bed with water. You will be okay stay away from beer and 4-5 should be okay
