Even then you really shouldn't since you'll fuck up the plates and bar
Thanks for the vid I don’t have the luxury of a power rack at my gym so your explanation at the start is a great help thanks better to swallow my pride take the fail correctly instead of trying to be a tough guy and go down with the weight and end up having a serious ACL tear or back injury and on top of that be a top 40 gym fail highlight
Videos about the rack itself are hard to find. This has been useful thank you.
I'm very new to lifting and was a bit nervous about getting into squats in case of failing. This was a great video to ease the nerves. Thanks
Strong like 👍
One gym I go to has racks that are not adjustable. One of the two racks is just right for failure but the other is too low. When I fail I tend to start leaning forward which puts me in a bad situation. I failed the other day on the wrong rack and pulled a muscle in my side.
I guess if I can’t get the other rack I’ll just have to start taking it easier. That is the second time I hurt myself on that rack. Once pulled a muscle in my back.
Literally that rack is about the height where if I sat down the bar on my shoulder might still be above the safety bars. Good way to end up compressing your spine. Not sure why they would make a rack like that.
I guess for now on I need to take it easier if I am stuck on the other rack.
Thanks! That saved my ass…
These are some great tips. Funny how other youtubers don't make videos about this because this is super important. I just started out and i'm going to the gym alone and failing a bench press f.ex without a spotter is awkward at the very least, not to mention in could get dangerous. This tip makes squatting easier too so thanks for these valuable pieces of info 😛
Thanks for these videos, I am self-conscious about going to the gym so I'm trying to get up to speed before heading out to one. Didn't know about power racks, to be honest. They seem like exactly what I need for bench presses and squats because I'm a loner/introvert and don't have anyone to to spot for me and I'd prefer to not drag someone else down to help me out. I appreciate the info!
I remember doing free squats and dropping the bar behind me just missing my gleaming chrome FXDWG .After that fright I moved further away from it .LOL
2:34 I just realized what I've been doing wrong. I haven't been blessing the bar. NO WONDER why my squat gains are struggling… I don't bless the bar!!!!!
I feel trapped in a power rack
How much yu squat without a power cage ???
Thanks. I needed this. I have always avoided squatting heavy weights because of fear of failing and injuring myself. Nexttime I enter the gym I'm gonna step up the weights!
Yeh but you dont fail that early
It’s a higher position which then makes a right clatter on the fail bar…. which is just embarrassing.
I’d still rather my own spotter
thumbs down idiot. you didn't explain safety on squat stands.
"after you bless it"… HA!
Omar is NEVER alone. For if He shall befelled in battle, the METAL gods shall levitate thy load!!!!
and is how I can bang all the fat chicks 😱
this guy is hilarious lmao, very entertaining and informative dude
His face look like girl
I always fear it will land on my heels and kill me (inside)
Thank you for making this video. No clue who you are, but I was about to buy a 6-point rack for garage and I realized that I had no idea what the proper fail-safe techniques were if something goes wrong. I typed “how to dump your weight using rack” and found this video. I never did compound power/strength exercises until I started reading they are some of the best exercises in the world. Anyway, thanks again for making it so simple. I’ll do my battle drills first to gain comfort with what you taught! 👍
don't learn how to fail, because you don't fail.
you are a beast bro, keep hitting pr's.
I don't know how he didn't injure his back just making these clips
We don't have power rack😔
Every couple of months I watch your outro just to make myself feel better.
So I shouldn't be bailing over my head like Clarence taught me?
Very good Video! Thanks for the advice 🙂
This is absolutely necessary to train Alone, thanks bro
Failing videos are the most underrated. Probably because most people don’t lift till failure to see enough gainz.
This is super helpful. I’m very apprehensive about starting to implement squats in my routine.
Great content. Very few videos on the internet about failing a squat
I failed on a rep when doing high bar squats and ended up falling with the bar on top of my neck. I was mortified afterward since pretty much everyone in the gym turned around to see what happened. Awkward. 🙂

This is awesome! I was afraid to go too heavy by myself now I see I can push a little harder and no injure or kill muself!
Omar is the best – shows us noobs how to be safe! thanks Omar!
So I’m good to fail? Nice thanks Omar!!!
First impressions – decent quality for home use, size was perfect bestgym.equipment easy to assemble. Based on some reviews/comments on Amazon. I purchased 3/8 X 1 1/2 washers to avoid any cracking near the bolts. Other than that I had it unboxed and assembled in 15 minutes
But what will I do for fun now that you are preventing all those fail videos?
