Bro , u r right , it's a important excercise for posture and rotator cuff but u r still doing it wrong .
U must make sure ur elbows are below ur shoulder level , go rewatch Jeff's video

This just looks and feels right. I was doing this technique wise all wrong. I was using Scott Herman's old face pull video from like 7yrs ago as my guide, but it never felt right. Thx, Omar.

You are not supposed to retract your shoulders and put them back and down in face pulls. This extremly decreases the activation of rear delts.
What if I am doing the mistake 2:44, but am using a band and the band is tied above my head? Is it ok?

Good video. I wish you would comment on the angle you are oullimg from, snd possible pro/cons from ajusting up/ pulling angle. From what i can tell the angle you pull from is slightly below head lvl.
