so I'm trying to recap my setup for the deadlift, can someone tell me If its correct?

set foot-hand position
bend hips until shins on the bar, shoulders over the bar
tighten glutes
tighten lats and look slightly up
push  feet into the ground

doing this though, with my leverages, long ass femurs (i find i have a tendency to squat the bar up). How do i solve this whilst staying tight?

i probably do it wrong 😀 because say in a heavy 5 rep set, my first rep is always the hardest even though i pause for like 1-2 seconds when the bar touches the ground

Thank you so much for the tip! I need to work on my form and keep my back neutral when I drive up. 😓

Yanking works really well though. Look up the channel Metal n iron and you'll see what i mean.

my issue was that I would get in the starting position but without being tight, the cue that helped me the most was trying to pull myself down to the bar, it also helped with my hips shooting up.

Vid is way more informative than the countless deadlift vids that just talk about textbook form. The idea of total bracing, and loading of the hips doesn't come naturally to some and does not get nearly as much attention as it should when it comes to Deadlift 101 (especially explained in this way).

My youtube comment replies don't seem to show up for me. It's frustrating. Can someone please comment to this, and if I do not comment back it's proof i'm not getting any notification. On the other side, I will probably never find this video back. I'll never know…. This never really happend.. :/

I never thought of pulling the slack out of the bar. I attempted 565 the other day and I hyped myself so much I just ripped it off the ground and my back was so bad I cried for 10 hours for my poor back

How to breath during deadlift? Is it like deep inhaling like while doing squats?
