I feel torn about a new Conan film. Conan is my favorite Arnold character and I rented Barbarian and Destroyer faithfully back in the 80s, but I feel sword and sorcery films are so linked to the magical filmmaking of the 80s, I'm not sure they can reprise this magic?
I think the talks of a older King Conan starring Arnold began way back, before he ran for governor of CA! When he won, I thought we would never see Arnold as Conan again or even in another movie. This is the only role I'd like to see Arnold back in. Forget old man terminator! Old conan makes more sense.

It's been eight years since the "reboot." If they were going to do anything to continue along those lines, they should have done it by now.
I have no problem with this other than I'd like to see Arnold in as good of shape as is possible. I believe that would mean getting together with more modern trainers who work with the body transformations of today's actors rather than training exclusively old school.
I have nothing against old school. I still use "The Weider System of Bodybuilding" (1983) as a main resource. But I also put credence in some of the info that channels like Athlean-X put out as far as maximizing the efficiency of workouts, as well as guys who work with actors like Hugh Jackman to get the best large aesthetic possible.
The only way this works is if Conan's wife is played by Cory Everson.
With all that cheddar she raked in, you'd think the bitch would have enough money to buy some new Daisy Dukes.

I remember goin' to see the original Conan movies with my buddies, we were 14 or 15 and absolutely loved 'em. To me ya can't have a Conan movie without Arnold Schwarzenegger, I mean c'mon…he IS Conan. I'd love to see this new one made and it would be too cool if the same group of us could get together to watch it. What a reunion that would be!
