I really like that people are gravitating more and more towards the vacuum pose. It's a forgotten thing that needs to be brought back.

Hit or miss?

Someone that big hitting a vacuum looks kind of weird. Especially that deep of a vacuum. I think a shallow vacuum looks better, and if you're that big, just having a defined and well controlled abdomen is just as impressive.

I thought Juan said in a video that he had no interest in doing the vacuum on stage? He said he was just practicing it to keep his midsection looking flat and on point.

the clueless brazilian fans will have a meltdown again if brandao doesnt win

Reply

Vacuum pose it pointless. Totally and utterly. It has no more relevance to body building than a competitor who poses while on ballet point.

Reply
Mark Botello April 7, 2019 - 8:47 am

That is a damn deep vacuum. You headed to Brazil?

Reply
kofi moseley April 7, 2019 - 9:49 am

Okay, I'm tired of hearing "vacuum." Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum, vacuum….. It still won't bring 1985 back. Nothing will.

My hope is Akim #1 b/c he got robbed in his last show and Juan #2 b/c I really like that he's putting so much effort into trying new poses like the vacuum pose.

Hey Nick, love your channel and the dedication you put into each and every you put out for all to enjoy!
I have a friend in which recently passed who was a pioneer in gridiron training and an unbelievably strong human being! His name is Dr. Ken Leistner and he recently passed just yesterday, 4/7/19. He was an amazing man that trained some amazingly talented people in his time and I believe he’s worth doing a small video honoring what this man did for strength training and conditioning! Plus he was a writer that preached the old school methods! Look him up and hopefully he’ll inspire you to help let people know how much he did for the community! Thank you for your time and hard work!

If Beyeke can nail his conditioning I'd say he's got this.

Reply
NavyRider 93 April 9, 2019 - 8:44 am

I wonder if doing the vacuum is dangerous to oneself? It appears that by pressuring, sucking in or pressing ones internal organs that extreme, may do some damage?

Reply
justa nother April 9, 2019 - 9:38 am

Everyone already forgot how Beyeke should've won the Arnold Brazil, but Kuclo got the judges vote. The sad thing was, you could clearly see the difference in photos, where Kuclo looked soft and Beyeke was in good all-time best (fairly dry) condition. (Kuclo looks excellent this year though).

I've watched men's open Arnold Brazil

Juan Morel will probably win. He was better in volume and symmetry. His quads were not good though.
