Omar, look bro, looks matters when it comes to getting an audience. You see, I understand a lot of topics better than many you tube content providers and if I were to make content, I'd have to be one of those guys who doesn't show my face for people to listen.
you on the other hand are not ugly, and also you audience is male which helps due to the fact that men are less judgmental on looks when trying to learn, have no problem due to the fact that you are visually aesthetic

Pyrros Dimas (he can squat jerk and if I attempted one my shoulders would get shat out of my ass) and Dan Green(he pulls sumo I pull sumo). Great video man! Keep up the good work.

I feel that it depends on your goal. If you're working out to look good then yes aesthetics will be more important to you if you're trying to become the strongest guy in the gym then your strength is more important.

dude that is so true. Im from Iran so I know Hossein Rezazadeh. but here (California) no one knows about him. he had all three records by himself when he competed! the new guy Behdad Salimi (he is from the same city that Hossein is) is gonna break his records tho. (broke one already)

out of interest, how do people manage to work the aesthetics element into their training at that level? i thought it was very mych set in a single goal of ability. or is it more genetics and diet?

I only weigh 180 like Omar but can't lift near the amount of weight he can, I am pretty lean so I guess it looks like I lift. I sure wish I was fucking stronger but I am only on my second year of serious lifitng.

Aesthetics is genetics, some bodies look more aesthetic because of hard work than others, strength is also within genetics, and some benefit more from hard work than others. The only thing we can do is become the best we can possibly be. To find the strongest version of ourselves. A strong dude looks more aesthetic than a weak dude, depends on the eye of the beholder though. But in my opinion a "fat powerlifter" who can lift a lot of weight and clearly has thick muscular legs and a broad back and shoulders, you can tell he is not only fat,is way more "aesthetic" than a 165 pound Brad Pitt looking underwear model. But that is because I find strength and hard work more beautiful than perfectly chiseled abs. But having both is not bad either. But then it would be a result of hard work and dedication and not "cutting". Cutting makes you weak. I bet Klokov eats whatever he wants. Because he needs those calories. He's huge and trains for hours every day. But some people are naturally leaner than others. I am not,but I do not strive to be. I strive to be as strong as I can.

I think the main reason people get subscribers is their personality and attitude. Content can be better in other videos but without the personality and attitude you won't sell it.

Keeping it real is a factor but 'keeping it real' can be faked. There are fake natties all over the Tube, some are on TRT and denying it or on SARMS and denying it or low does of roids.

Some subscribers aren't overly bothered by fake natties if they have the personality and attitude, they get fans in the comments who will defend the naturalness of the Youtuber because they see the Youtuber as a real-life friend instead of a YouTuber.

Thinks that put people off channels is … Drama, moods, inconsistent personality and attitude. People just won't be bothered to sit through ads to watch this.

I think aesthetics are an important piece of the puzzle but only in part: Klokov goes to great lengths to promote himself as a brand. He knows how the social media circus ticks and uses it to his advantage. It's marketing, pure and simple. You see the same with fitpros: Plently of good trainers out there who put out good info and get good results but most you will never hear about because they're trainers/coaches first and businessmen second, if at all.

That said, aesthetics undeniably play a very important role. It's not long ago that an article on how 'lesser' Crossfit athletes got the best sponsorship deals because they look good where as others who eclipse them performance wise but don't do so well in the looks department get a far smaller piece of the sponsorship pie. Which is perfectly understandable but only further illustrates the point you're making here.

The thing with athleticism is to be good at a certain sport which in turn will help you be as healthy as possible. To become better at powerlifting all you need to do is get stronger in the three movements. But to become a better athlete you need to also control your overall health and that's where these people fall short and that's why they do not get that much attention. Their totals do not matter as much because nobody really wants to be unhealthy regardless of how strong they become. People want to look up to somebody that is both healthy and strong and the only indicator of how healthy you are is how good you look. Hence the importance of aesthetics along with strength.
TL;DR : Focus on being healthy while getting stronger and aesthetics will come along.

It's neither…it's "can you whoop ass?" Or…maybe it's all good. Connor McGregor put it so well…"There's two things I do well…look good and whoop ass". If you're going to whoop ass, why not look good while doing it…
