something similar happened to me and after a lot.of heat ice and stretching like 4 or 5 months later I'm better. I think mine was a herniated disc tho. something important to understand is that you still have to work it thru a pain free rom. every day. you don't even need weight, just loosen it up with heat and then after try and work it thru a pain free rom as far as you can go without pain. this is the big thing that helped me.

Injuries are part of resistance training. Anybody who undertakes resistance training will sooner or later get some type of an injury. There are those guys too, who have never ever been injured, and they will tell you so. However, just get them talking, and soon they are telling you about all the tweaks they have have had. Some tweaks so severe, that their fuckin tendons delaminated from the bone. This is all known as an injury. So, if you take a trip to Snap City, it is always better to stay in the suburbs. Never go downtown Snap City.

Omar, you may want to go to a physician, and get checked for a condition called Spondylolysis. If this is present, it is better to find it out sooner, rather than later.

I remember when Elliot Hulse took like 6 months off his strength camp show to do yoga and core exercises everyday. Seems fine to me. Keep it up Omar! I'm in a similar phase

show everything that you're doing anyway and what you're doing to work with the injury, a series on si recovery is something allot of people will benefit from. everything from form variation to percentages, warm up exercises and injury specific protocols.

Dude, same exact Journey and I can say that as a fitness professional I am guilty of the do as I say not what I do. Has caught up to me in mid 30s but its all part of the learning process for your specific biomechanics. Im prob 75% back to norm. Coming back stronger and better. Keep your head up.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Felt a pop lower back towards the right after a heavy squat day. Reinjured it 5 months later dead lifting. Trouble walking, sitting and sleeping. Right leg was not firing (single leg press of 45 pounds was a struggle on my.) which was the scariest part. Get better dude.

Prob already know this, but reverse hyperextensions may be a good way to rehab. Fucked my shit up three times doing DLs and squats with terrible form as a noob and that plus a genetically narrow spinal canal equalled disc bulges in 2 spots in my lumbar. Tried everything before discovering reverse hypers and they've more or less allowed me to lift heavy again. Been able to really improve my squat form with your dorsiflexion video, hopefully you'll be able to get back in shape soon. Cheers

Hey Omar, that’s a tough injury you’ve had to go through. I'm posting this comment in a few sections to make sure you get it. I believe the answer to your low back issue lies in these two articles I recently wrote for T-Nation. Part 1 https://www.t-nation.com/training/real-science-of-squat-depth Part 2 https://www.t-nation.com/training/best-damn-way-to-squat Hope this helps pal.

HI Omar, Im a big fan and got a serious question

Should you bulk or cut on a injury. Bc yea you cnat lift with the same intensity so u cna focus on high reps and low weight. But u will also lose much muscle

i just went through this last month. I hurt my back dead lifting but continued squatting and dead lifting for a couple weeks after, I just assumed it would go away in a few days. I stopped dead lifting but continued squatting at a lower weight. Then i did some research and discovered how bad the injury could grow to be. I stopped lower training for 2 weeks and just started up again on Monday. My back feels great and I'm glad i took time for hings to heal

I have the same issue. I believe it's my SI joint based on were the pain is. It's the lowest part of my spine on the top inner portion of my glute. Today I went to train very light and 135 squat which is pathetic was very difficult, I had to be very aware of my form and slow down the movement and I stopped at 2 sets because I felt like another set would have caused it to flare up. Still not sure what's causing it exactly but I really hope that I can fix this stupid issue so I can get back to squatting heavy.

I needed this…have had SI pain since 4 years ago. Still struggling to get past it! I’ll figure it out I know I will. But some say, just up your squat and it’ll fix it. Some say foam roll. Some say chiropractor. Some say stop lifting. Some say stretch. AND I JUST STRAINED MY PEC 4 WEEKS AGO DOING STARTING STRENGTH. If anyone has any tips for me pls give. But I’m not feeling sorry for myself. I’m gonna get this shit fixed no matter how long it takes.

I’ve been dealing with chronic SI pain for about three years. I’m an ex-athlete and I’m avidly into powerlifting and olylifting. I’m literally 20 years old. I haven’t been able to move the way I want .
