Ran across this video and just wanted to say that this accessory totally works. I've been using it at the end of every leg day (I alternate squats and deadlifts). I did 4 sets of 10 @65kg for about 8 weeks and my quads popped really fast. It's such a stupidly easy exercise that really everyone ought to be throwing it in as an accessory at the end of every leg day.
you squat how many times a week? Man am I not working out enough I usually hit every chest/tri, back/bi and legs at least once a week while hitting others maybe twice. Should i be doing more?
Leg extensions? Are you fucking serious? This is what gymheads call the "patella destroyer". This thing is THE single worst thing you can do to your quads. It does a LOT more harm than good, the entire weight you are lifting up is held in place by exactly one ligament and the exercise, contrary to legcurls, moves the legs outward meaning you'll have less stability in them. This is legitimately the worst tip you could give someone unless you want them to rupture their patellar ligaments. They should legitimately forbid this exercise at every gym.
The title of this video and then you present only leg extension. Ok, leg extension can do something for legs but in real this is the worst choose for bigger quads. This title of video and that what you present is not good material
Just a quick question: Why should I do the Leg extension as a finisher and not as a "warm up" for Squads/leg-press? I am a beginner and lift for only ~ 8 months now and I noticed that my Squad/legpress doesnt suffer at all but the Leg extension does if i do them after the compound movements. Thanks from a noobie!
I don't know enough about Omar to know how he trains but he says at 0:41 that he still squats 4-5x a week… Was that just a slip of the tongue (maybe he meant 4-5x month) or does he really do them so often?
Ed coan was probably the strongest powerlifter of all time with over 1k in squat. And he doesnt have huge quads. Some people just dont have the genetics. My friend has weak legs but big quads. 🤷♂️
my ass is huge and my quads are lagging behind. I squat with small plates under my heels because of ankle flexibility. I tend to bend forward during squat.

Alberto is right. I've done 40 kg for ages, n now I've moved onto 45. lmao
Probably the reason why it wouldn't allow you to go right to the top is to do with the angle when you're just the pin settings.
When leg extensions were first made they never took over squats they always were pre exhaust or a finisher for the quads
I stop doing them when I shouldn't have listened to old wives tales about they don't damage to the knee and there a terrible exercise to build muscle.
To me it's the perfect isolation exercise
