Jeff saved my back, by posture alone. He gives you ways to build and get healthier and not injure yourself . People are using his channel to get views.

I think jeff just wanted to stir the pot a bit. This honestly sounds like a botched collaboration between greg and jeff for publicity

I've been watching jeff videos since past three to four years and have improved in my workouts and techniques even if the guy is using fake weights who cares he is the best coach online by far.
So all you guys who are addressing the fake weights issue do you have different techniques as he does or are you just steroid junkies

I agree we should avoid violence at all levels, but I would expect you to support the BLM movement.

Shit I don't give a fk if he uses fake weights …I have learned so much from jeffy

I don't get why it would be a big deal if they were "fake" weights. I mean if he is showing technique, movements, etc, and has to do that along with his regular workout or training then I too would use lighter weights for my videos. Unless he was showing major power lifts or pretending he had a record, then I don't think it really matters.

I guarantee there is no way Jeff can deadlift 500lbs for reps. He's decieved us. He didn't even need to. No one cares how much he could lift. It wasn't alot anyway.

Don't really give a damn if Jeff is using fake plates to shoot videos that show proper technique. Unless he's the greatest youtuber of all times and able to do everything in one take, I'd cut the weight back too since even the best of weightlifters will tire after dozens of reps, which will cause the form to suffer.

Who cares about fake weights for training demo vids and shoots? I know it happens on many pro shoots for magazines.

Jeff Cavi is too wordy for me. He makes all inclusive intro statements, "how get 6 pack abs", and the goes on and on and on and throws in a few comparative anatomy buzz words. He talks a lot, and never makes a point

You are SPOT ON! It was pretty clear that Jeff responded to Gregg's natty or not question in order to change the conversation away from the fate plates controversy. As far as I was concerned, I didn't think it was such a huge scandal that Jeff used faked plates to demonstrate poor form on a deadlift — obviously there is more to that story and Jeff has too much to lose by coming clean. Meanwhile, Gregg was saying that Jeff is 100% for sure juicing but that if he had a gun to his head and had to chose he's more inclined to believe that Jeff isn't natural. And the thing that led Gregg to change his mind about that question was Jeff's dishonesty over the fake weights.

I don't ever remember referring to Jeff's videos to bump up my big three numbers or get a visual boost for my one rep max attempt. His videos were always related with how to do it with proper form.

Yeah, I don't care that, or if Jeff uses fake weights. If he does, his videos and the lifts for which he is using these weights, are for demonstrative purposes, not to say "I can lift XXX lbs for this many reps, etc." If he were using the real thing, it might make it harder to talk and explain the lift, form and the reason for the exercise when properly performed.

If real weights or not, for me I will still and always love what Jeff does. He is very knowledgeable and is one of the greatest YouTube fitness personalities.

I have a hunch that Jeff using fake weights is just him being in step with how bodybuilders pose with fake weights too. He trains athletes too. It would take a toll on anybody's body to work out that much and then add on all of the sets just to film his videos too. He probably is putting on a bit of a show for views. But he knows how to play the game and is still no joke.

John Rambo June 21, 2020 - 12:12 pm

Some of those plates were clearly fake, go around any gym and have a look around.
Look how easily jeff is "so called" pressing 315lbs
What a load of shit, i know 350lb steroid fulled power lifters that cant press 315lbs like that, especially not that easily.
Also Jeff is clearly taking a Dr Prescribed / monitored TRT dose, anyone who can't see both of these things probably thinks that CT Fletcher was Natural too

Fucking lol

Why does it matter if Jeff uses fake weights. It’s about the content and information he gives and demonstrations of proper form. Who cares what is in the bar. Its probably safer for him to use them if he is making vids with multiple takes.

Fake weights are an issue when you have douche bags like brad castleberry claiming world records with them.

Whether or not the weights are fake at times is not really on the same level as using drugs. It's pretty clear that Jeff lasered in on that accusation because that's the one that matters. Even if the weights were fake for the purposes of demonstration, his physique doesn't lie. He's a public figure and someone would have called him out for that by now if he looked different on screen than in person. The real attack on Jeff is that he uses drugs to get his gains, which kills his entire credibility if true. I don't know why the community cares so much about the far less important aspect of the accusation.

How can anyone dis Jeff? Tons of FREE advice, so what if he makes money on his programs. He’s done better to help people than any fitness pro out there (along with Jim Stoppani). He’s helped me and many others, and if he was on performance enhancing drugs he’d be 3 times his size. He’s not “gear” big by any means. I think anyone who’s watched his You Tube channel and actually applies the advice given can see through Greg’s allegations.

Jeff is definitely using fake plates as u can see 4:004:48 that the third plate just pops up when he puts the bar down in the deadlift motion.
He is also not wearing a belt for lifting such a heavy weight 🤔🤔🤔
He is also not using grips to take load off his hands and it can be seen that his grip on the bar is pathetic 😏😏😏
At such heavy weight deadlift, the bar never can swing & it is obvious that due to his poor form and lack of real weights , the bar swings a bit. That much swing of the bar in a real-weight deadlift would have caused injury to his spine – period !!!

So what if Athlean X uses some fake weights in videos? He never claims to be some freakish powerlifter. He gives great advice. I had bad shoulder pain from heavy lifting and it was affecting my workouts. Jeff did a video on shoulder pain and popping and it not only helped me, it completely fixed the problem. Fuck these wackass juicehead haters. You're a dime a dozen and bring nothing new to the table

At my peak when I was 26, I was double my body weight at bench and three times my body weight at deadlift/squat and doing one arm pull-ups. I wasn't even as cut as Jeff but I was just under 180 lbs. I was accused constantly of using steroids. I was active duty Marine and piss testing all the time. It was always infuriating. I just worked my ass off and ate right. It didn't happen over night either, built up from 14 years old. IF Jeff is using, or ever, its all on him. But I can feel his frustration in that post of his. Doubt the weights were fake too.

Im not sure which exact vids of jeff are acused of being fake. if just the deadlift one shown, im nothing special, natty [5ft8/190]and did 455 for reps with a cambered bar and close to 500 with a shrug bar for 3-5 reps.
doing these heavy pulls over n over again several times a month, i eventually pulled a finger muscle and almost got a hernia with the cambered bar pulls and had compression injuries to my discs but i did pull those weights off the ground for reps w/o roids.
