How strong should you be? In this video I break down some realistic goals and what people at the 1 year, 2 year, 5 year and 10 year mark are lifting. How do you stack up?
Full charts can be viewed here: http://www.strongerbyscience.com/realistic-training-goals/
275 squat and 315 deadlift after a year is pretty easy
I’m 185 and when I started bench pressing I only did 125 with very minuscule training like playing around but after almost two weeks I can do 175 and it’s still going up and my deadlift is 335 without no deadlifting prior age(17)
About 8 months i got my bench to 240. Squat 280 dead 380. But than I hit a wall hard primarily on the bench
3.5 years lifting. 85kg squat x 12 reps, bench 70kg x 12 reps, dont dead lift.
74kg bodyweight
4 years since started gyming, 1.5 years properly strength training and eating properly. Started at 40kg bench, 50 squat, 70, deadlift. Im currently at 105 bench, 160 squat, 185 deadlift. 17 years old, 80kg
1 year and two months lifting, bench 80kg, squat 100kg, deadlift 150kg / i jogged nine months of that peroid, sometimes 12 miles. after stopping jogging my body started to get stronger, rest is really important is a good rule.
2 years 4 months. 81-83kg. BP-140kg, SQ-175kg, DL-180kg…
Here was my progress after 11 months, bear in mind I regained a lot of lost weight from muscle memory.
1st Year
Deadlift started at 145lbs – after 11 months pulled 345lb Deadlift easily
Squat started at 135lbs – after 11 months did a high bar 315lb Back Squat
Bench Press started at literally 95lbs – after 11 months did a 245lb Bench Press
this is weird because after my first year my legs blew up but my upper body didnt
I got 2 of my homies into lifting 8 months ago and this is their progress for a 5×5 workout. All progress was made under my amateur guidance and in under a year. Assuming you have a general idea of how the body works and aren't arrogant when it comes to your knowledge of lifting you should be able to bench 225 or more after a year of hustling for it….
homie A: 6ft & 180lb
homie B: 6ft2 & 185lb
bench 5×5:
homie A: 105 to 190lbs
homie B: 115 to 200lbs
squat 5×5:
homie A: 105 to 205lbs
homie B: 130 to 215lbs
(they don't like to push leg day as hard)
8 months in. 235 bench, 285 squat, 360 deadlift
I got really strong the first 6 months. Now since the last 2 week, the strength has been dipping hard.
This is got to be the least accurate shit ive ever fucking heard on youtube
After 4 months. Bench went from 135 to 185 Deadlift 185 to 275, squat 185 to 285 all are sets of 5. Max one rep bench is 205, deadlift 315 squat 325. I’ve dropped in weight from 270lbs to 236, I want to get lean and get to under 200 but I don’t know if that’s dropping too much. Will I get weaker as I get lighter? I don’t want to drop to such a low weight. And then have to work back up in weight to gain more muscle. Is it easier to gain muscle now? I’m 21yo 5”11 236lbs.
45 day's of lifting :
140kg squat
130kg Deadlift
90kg Bench bress
edit :
my best lift now are 25/10/2021
180kg squat
190kg deadlift
120kg bench
10 months S215kg B115kg D210kg
Salute bro 💯
How much roids did all these people doing the survey take .?
after 18 days its gonna be a year for me 🙂
bench 70kg
deadlift 120kg
squat 110kg
Bruh this was discouraging as heck. I bench 185lbs after 2 years. Squat 205 and deadlfit 225😢
Hey guys, I’d really like some feedback because I feel as though I should really pursue powerlifting, but I’m relatively new and don’t know if I’m being naive. After seeing these numbers and your responses I’m shocked. I and 6 months into training, my maxes are as follows:
Bench press: 295 x 1 paused
Squat: 405 x 1
(And yes it is to depth I recorded it)
Deadlift: 405 x 1
(Only been deadlifting for 2 weeks and I hit this on the second pull day)
Body weight:206
Height 5’11
Videos like these make me feel like a monster, but I feel like I may just be getting too big of an ego for no reason. I can post if proof is wanted
bro i went from 119 to 150 pounds in 1 year, and im no where close to those strength gains LMAO
i strongly doubt it that people can just rock up to the gym and squat 225 first try
As a teen (14 years old)i see these adult numbers and i feel weak af.i bench 155 deadlift 225 5 reps
A lot and I mean a lot of bullshitters it the comments. Who would have thought? Much like the statistics in this vid.
I only started 5 months ago and can deadlift 150kg squat 130kg and bench 100kg
Video- "After the first year you should have 245lbs bench"
Me- "Well I mean, I can probably get there, but I'd say that is quite a bit higher than average"
Video- "After your first year you should have 1.25x BW bench"
Me- "Well those numbers are quite different lmfao"
I have been lifting for a year now my lifts are (pounds)
205 bench paused
365 deathlift
270 squat
00:50
2 DAMN YEARS, for 205 bench, 285squat, 335 dl??
This was my Starting Strength 2-3 months progress:
BW 63kg>72kg
Squat ~30kg>115kg 3×5
Bench Press ~40kg>85kg 3×5
Press ~25kg>55kg 3×5 (I've longass arms so for me this felt insane lol)
Deadlift ~60kg>140kg
So he has been doing what for 2 years? Brosplits? Certainly not NLP… With any basic NLP he could get the same numbers in less than half a year…
I guess maybe it makes sense if it's a woman? Though depends on bodyweight, but no male should be lifting such light weights after 2 years, what the hell did I just read
I’ve been lifting for one year this month and my maxes are the exact same as yours were the first year, kinda wild
Two months in and I can squat 225×4, deadlift 295×4, and bench 165×5
