What’s the deal with all of these insane deadlifts and squats by normal sized guys? There seems to be an endless list of guys weighing around 200lbs doing 700lb+ lifts. Has the training changed or is it the supplements/gear?

Nick, sorry to say this, but you cant compare this guy’s 770 pound sumo to thors 1104 conventional no matter what one weighs. Its not even close, its a million miles of difference. This guy can probably do 650 conventional, which is pretty impressive but nowhere near thor, regardless of his weight. Same thing with Jamal Browner. If he could break the deadlift world record (not the sumo, the real one) he would. He cant do it, and he never will bevause a sumo and a conventional are a million miles off. Jamals PR in conventional is at about 800 tops. There is no comparison. Someone who deadlifts 700 vs someone who sumo deadlifts 700 is much, much stronger. There is no comparison. If they could do 700 conventional they would. They cant because its a harder lift. End of story. No comparison. And dont bring in the deadlift suit thing into it because the deadlift suit only provides about a 5 percent difference in the lift. Thor had alreadu lifted 480 without a suit before he did the 501 with a suit.

Can't believe you didn't cover the controversy about Atwood dropping the bar on his recent meet

Or maybe Chris is just a class act. I don’t have social media so I don’t know how the game is played, but he seems like such a good dude. I’d probably be a complete d-head if I looked like that guy

yeah but the form is a crutch basically if he were to do it strongman style he wouldn't get close to those numbers but love the vids man keep it up

Logan’s only talking point was that his arms were bigger than Chris’s. Why wouldn’t he aquash the beef? After 1 offseason Chris has bigger arms.

If you think about super compensation and how this kid prolly planned his training, he would’ve set up his plan to peak around the meet so with super compensation he could still be “peaking” a few days after.

I don’t believe this guy Taylor did such a deadlift at that weight so his deadlift is better than Franco Columbu who powerlifted at 175-180lbs. Either he is a phenom or an imposter????

Not a deadlift it's a sumo deadlift it's way easier to up your weight it's a shorter lockout point regular deadlift is obviously feet are dead center shoulder width and the lockout point is a lot longer lock out point so please just consider this a sumo deadlift not a regular deadlift it's like seeing a cheat curl is a strict curl we both know those are two different things one is easier than the other

Well sumo so….yeah can lift a lot more sumo style than conventional. That and total strength matters a lot more than body weight.

Am I the only one who thinks Pat Moore should have tried to crush classic rather than the open? His physique seems more suited for it.

Not knocking this deadlift….very impressive. But this feat is not the equivalent of a conventional pull @ the same weight

Isn't the max amount you can lift barring muscle strength determined by leverage/limb length? Could the rules be changed or another category be created so that a tall guy with long legs and short arms can have the bar raised a few inches off the ground on a platform?
