It's interesting watching my cousin train for strong man comps. .but the weird thing is he was at his strongest on things like bench over head press etc because he used strict form rather than momentum. .when he did strong man and switched bk to bodybuilding for a bit to test out my theory of him being stronger as a bber he was really weak with bbing form
The message here is that powerlifting is different than bodybuilding. Understood.

I try to incorporate both….. Always perform the 3 main lifts but train them differently depending on the day. Sometimes I will start with the heavy lift then move onto more of a 3×12 or 4×10 or 4×8. Then will do some isolation to kill the muscles. Sometimes I like to start with isolation then move to a heavy compound or hypertrophy compound. Sometimes I will focus on a variation of the 3 main lifts (incline, decline, dumbbell, sumo, rack pull, box squat, etc.) for my heavy lift and move to more of a hypertrophy on regular bench, squat and dead. I just try to mix it up and it seems to work for me especially when I hit a plateau.

To POWER BODYBUILD, stick to 4 to 8 reps but MORE SPECIFICALLY, STICK TO 4 to 6 reps, MAX OT TRAINING!
