6:15 for when I nearly died.
Don't be like me. Follow these tips for the Big 3 and you will lift safely!
I fucked up my wrist in the winter from failing at a 405 squat. The safeties were set too low and I had to really work to throw the bar off my back due to my thumbs over grip. My wrist never fully went back to normal.
Let be real here. The only reason Mark Bell is still lifting is because there were safety straps up when he fell with 1085lbs on his back.
Look up faulty spotting in the IPF if you need any more reason to protect yourself. The only person who really cares about you being safe, is you.
Wait that incident was from 2012? Damn I've been here for a while
For real though rowing the weights off in bench is only a moderate to ok idea when it’s a light burnout lol
I'm about to add deadlift to my workout thanks for the info.
For the deadlift I ALWAYS use the famous "Eddy Hall's Kneel" technique to stay safe.
I think im being told something . Stumbled on the safety video from Mark Rippetoe now here . We have one rack at our gym . I come in early so i can use it .
Tip for if you get lightheaded:
lay down on the ground and put your legs up (someone can even hold them for you). That way the blood can flow back to your brain and you are perfectly safe because if you pass out you're already on the ground 🙂
I want more Aous videos. Omar you're shit
Best Omar video. As always safety first.
GUYS ITS 2018
lol, benching 315 with thumbless grip… young Omar was pretty stupid
Whats an SI ?
This has helped me so much. Was so scared of carrying on lifting heavy after my friend moved gym but this has helped me know I can give it a go without dying
Great info, thanks!
Yeah I'm guilty of thumbnail image. I really should pin higher next time.
Don't you hate it when you're 7'5" tall and you black out after deadlift? SMH, hate it when they happens.
Grat video! Thanks!
Another thing you could do on deadlifts is just sit down
If you feel light headed after a deadlift just sit down
Thanks a lot Omar. I am switching to low bar squat. Was really concerned about this since I am currently high bar squatting around 150-160 kg. Never bailed on any REP actually. But I always know i can skip from there. With low bar, my shoulder is quite tight at the moment. I can image the bad situation I will be in with current mobility. This is really good mental preparation material. You have explained it very well!
I have always wanted to get into squatting, but I have never been good at it. I think its like anything else I always put on too much weight and just never followed through. I hear how benefiting squatting really is for your body and it seems to work out everything. I get scared of getting a bad injury so I have always steered away. Wish I had someone who was really good to get me going until I got better. I need to just start out with light weight and higher reps.
Hey OMarisuf, as a 30 foot man I appreciated this 9:14
😆👍
10:06 Look, I am not so much familiar with weight lifting. So serious question. Can someone please explain me why his thumbs in this grip goes on the same side of the bar as his fingers? Is this some type of particular exercise or what is it?
Fucking Big Power Rack mouthpiece
I dropped 250 on my head.
It's ok though I was already retarded.
