I always here you talking about this "fear" that we should have of doing to much sets since the beginning cause later on due to progressive overload is impossible to spend like 5 hour in the gym doing 20 sets and I agree but I have a doubt: Since I'm doing bro split (and no I'm not gonna switch to push pull even if it's better for natural lifters because I payed a program) how can I do? I mean if you do bro split OBVIOUSLY you're doing a crazy amount of sets cause you work one muscle group, I'm afraid of harming my progressive overload journey but at the same time plenty of old school bodybuilders did bro split and it works… Tips, suggestion, everything welcome!!!

Get well soon, Matt! Any particular reason for you getting sick all the time? 😀
Also, you are totally right about chasing the pump. So many guys at my gym is chasing the pump and i keep asking them why they are doing it.. They can't really give me a good answer, and they continue with the same reps and weight every week!

Nice video, isn’t the ideal hypertrophy range 8-12 reps?

Hi there watch a lot of your videos thanks for the effort you put in to making content to entertain and educate use about your fitness and muscle journey do you think it is harder for larger men to build and see results and also do you feel mostly looking “GOOD” is mostly about cutting to show of and not so much about fitness or performance eg film roles body building and short term fat loss and shredding videos and do you feel sometimes this might be missing the mark on what people need to do long term.kind regards keep up the good work

i disagree with running when sprinting your still damaging muscles putting them in hypertrophy. thats just sprinting though. not steady running which i am not sure if thats just what u meant and not sprinting

And what about drop sets ? I always do hard set 5-8 reps and destroy it with little lighter weight with another 6-8 reps, what do you think about this technique?

Reply
batka ta October 14, 2018 - 3:31 pm

HI Matt, what would you say about feeder workouts? Like a day after you trained a certain muscle group you do high rep (50 – 60 – 80 reps) with very less weight for 2 – 3 sets just to feed out the muscles with fresh blood and nutrients and recover them quicker. Does that make any sense?

Hey Matt, I am a beginner weight lifter. I have been an athlete for 18 years of my life and had to quit these past 3-4 years because of wear and tear on my body. I am wanting to get into shape as much as possible to look ripped, have strength but not be super huge. My fiance introduced me to your channel and I've started watching your videos as support to get into the gym more. I've got a bad knee, ankle, shoulder and back but honestly have no idea where to start. I've been working mostly my chest, back and shoulders to become more stable for core but do not know where to keep going. I would love to start one of your programs but don't know whether to choose hypertropy or hybrid.
