You do seem to keep some of the specific adaptations from very specialized training. I used to run, row and swim ultra distances. Now I lift I still have a very good work capacity. For example I ran super squats and while it did suck it didn’t suck quite as much for me as for my mates. Purely as I could recover quicker.

Id say its a personal choice. Ive seen people make progress being at 10% maybe lower. It deffinitely takes more work and could affect you mentally, than when you are relaxed and not so strict on your diet, but you can definitely make strength and muscle gains being lean. But youre right, idk about hitting PRs looking great lol
somedays i feel powerful and motivated. the next i feel tired weak and unmotivated. you just take it one day at a time. for me i just love getting out the stress. and i like to compare myself to a few months or years back. yeah i could have came further. but why quit?

I get treated like crap by most people when I grow out my beard and my hair. I’ve just learned to not care. Sure I look more “aesthetic” when I have better grooming but who gives a shit. If I don’t feel like shaving, I’m not shaving damnit lol
if you can deadlift #1000 you dont need to be aesthetic on YT. otherwise, i can think of two doctors off the top of my head with YT channels, one cut one yoked, both spitten straight science. someone fluffy gonna come in and be like "dog, im the voice of the new natty body building community." naw, you need to be aesthetic, at least then you can be motivational.
