I think the thing is before people are drunk it's very easy to maintain a safe cleaning routine in a pub and table service means its guaranteed your table will be cleaned between different users whereas you cant guarantee equipment will be cleaned between use as people will skip this like they did in the early stages of the virus. So on paper it seems like you could control a pub or restaurant enviroment very easily however once people are drunk that's a whole new story as common sense goes out the window and then you have less control over the enviroment and gyms seem like they are as safe if not safer.

So many comments regarding pubs and gyms. It’s very simple. You can socially distance in a pub or restaurant but you cannot in a gym. A gym means everyone touching and coughing all over the same equipment. Now what’s so hard to understand about that?
Our gyms in Vegas are all open, but governor re-closed bars yesterday after them having been back open for a few weeks, so I'd say you have a valid point. Haha…gym hasn't been weird at all and I've been to at least 4 different ones in the past few weeks.
