In this video, I want to try to succintly explain what actually matters when it comes to getting results and what doesn't.
Topics include frequency, volume, intensity, RPE, exercise variation, macros, rep ranges and more. Tried to keep the video as short as possible yet also cover a lot of ground. If there is one "short" summary video on my channel to watch about the fundamental principles, I would think it is this one.
So i could do 3 sets of 4 reps on my strength day and build muscle? Isn't too little volume?

Yo you straight up stole this video idea from the Barbell medicine Instagram post. Like almost word for word.

Why are your headphones in your mouth?
I often have days that I go to the gym and feel really good, 4 exercises later the tank is empty, I lift way lower in weight, sets and reps then few days before and just call it a day.
Often I dont feel like working out, I go to the gym and suddenly do 10 exercises. Go up in weight, sets and reps and even set PRs.
The only thing I do is go consistently. If its a crap day I call it a 'rest' day and Im only in 30 to 45 min. But you never know before you go.
Sure most days are normal, sometimes you feel damn good and have a great workout as well, sometimes you feel like crap and it doesnt go well. But the reverse also happens plenty of times.
Consistency is surely the key. I sometimes had 2 or 3 bad weeks, were I thought damn I lost strenght opposed to last month and then all of a sudden I set PRs out of nowhere.
Maybe Im doing shit wrong, maybe I sometimes overtrain a little bit or my cortisol is just high, didnt sleep good enough, to busy at work to have the energy. I dont know the exact reason. However not allowing yourself to use these as excuses or to lose your discipline is the best. Sure if you have a couple of shitty weeks without a clear explanation you feel like, damn why is this so hard, I benched a plate more for 3 more reps last week. But usually its just a bad day. Just pick lighter weight, get the pump, do at least something even if its half the sets and try that bodypart again in a couple of days. I feel progress isnt a straight line, it fluctuates a little, its the long term progress you want. With consistency your PRs from today will be a bad day a half year from now.
Do you train abs? Idk if I've seen any videos from you on them but yours look noice
