How do you guys think pro shows could be improved?
This is way better. Lighting is so important but they don’t make it a priority.
Been saying this for years. I'm glad someone with followers speaking about it too! I loved the old plain backgrounds. And the old lighting.
Keep up the great work bodybuilding is always evolving
Classic physique does have more of a main steam appeal… however bodybuilding does not have a main stream fan base.. the people watching the shows are there MOSTLTY for the open class.. the people who prefer the asthetic categories are the casual fan who are not spending money on the show, your cash paying fans are there for the open class…if you had the olympia without classic physique, I bet you would not see a big drop in viewership or revenue, but do the olympia without open and watch how much revenue you lose.. the money makers are rewarded more
Like I said before. There needs to be a standard for lighting, stage, backdrop….. Across the board. Where ever a football team travels to in the US there's a standard and same rules. This needs to apply to BB so ppl can take it serious.
Need a favorite pose under goon light section, simply for the hype.
MPD does not get paid more….and most of the shows that make up this pot are filled with twice as many MPD and Bikini Competitors. Classic should get more for sure But MPd and Bikini need a bump up as well. lets not act like its not more MPD competitors then any division. Which contributes to prize money ..wether we like it or not

they should do weigh-ins and pre contest measurements.. bicep/ quad sizes… Keep it interesting
produce a pre-event "Road to the Olympia" movie where they do back stories on all the contenders.. some of the guys already do this on their own but a polished "official" video featuring all or many of the guys would be sick

Man the whole production of Olympia this year was a disgrace. even on the pay per view, the used cheap cameras, the lighting was a distraction, the commentators would speak over the music. just the whole show was so poorly made
The before and after of ramy looked like only choosing the right tanning color more anything else. Plus he’s never been the best he’s never deserved 1 Mr.O.
We need to stop treating bodybuilding like it's American football and more like a professional ballet. Bodybuilders are not "athletes" any more than ballerinas are. Still, you would be a fool to deny the athletic prowess of either. Bring the reverence of dance to bodybuilding.
Imagine they keep a dope stage like this but when it comes to posing time, they close a curtain and fix the lighting to give a more breathtaking effect… pretty sure they can do that for less than $500, easy.
The lights on the athletes make the show. The flashing crazy lighting at this year's Olympia was insulting and gawdy. Classic physique prize money makes me sad.
Prejudging is the judging. The night show is just that, a show. The competition happens in prejudging.
B was better for all of the physiques except Bumstead imo
Love all the ideas. Got to treat these physiques like art, like sculptures. Not a flashy show. Tough in modern society, though, like you said Nick

Man the olympia and the Europa pro backgrounds were just awful

Look back to the old videos of Arnold, Ronnie, and Jay when they competed. The backgrounds were so much simpler and especially Arnold's time (I think that's what the artist was designing the edits based off) it highlighted their incredible physiques so much more
As for the guy who bought the Olympia, I've got no sympathy for him. He's made an investment and, regardless of how much of a hole he's in after the purchase, he can't wring its neck and hope to get his money back year one. It could be 5 years before he breaks even, but that's the problem with any investment!
And a world title event should be run by a governing body, not an individual. You have ex/retired bodybuilders running the event for the benefit of the sport and the athletes.
Another thing is Ramy gatting 10x the money of Bumstead! I only tuned in because of CBum
