there were some good stretches in the video but studies have shown that active stretching should occur before a workout and static stretching should be after a workout. scott, you being a muscular guy, a good part of being physically fit is being flexible.

OSuperficialh and scott he missed an important detail in the lunge stretch. Your knee should never pass your toes. It is very bad for your knees

U have a lot of back fat rolls

If you think he has fat between his shoulder blades you know nothing about male anatomy. Men in his shape, IF they have fat, will be stored on hips (precursor to love handle), lower abdominal area, and a little on the lower gluts. Scott is pure muscle, and that's what you're seeing between his shoulders. Anyone who has a well-developed back musculature will look like that.

I think gymnasts are the go-to athlete to learn stretching tips. You got any tips to learning to do the splits? As a male, I didn't think it was possible until actually paying attention during the Olympics that they are actually doing the splits… I'm pretty flexible (can put my feet behind my head, but more a piriformis stretch), but I have never been good at toe-touching and split-looking movements…My question to you is: how did YOU get there? Little bits of pain/tearing over time?

Lol it kinda is 🙂 This movie also had a lot of softcore innuendo for us gay guys… This is why I have trouble letting other people stretch me because it's kind of…intimate.

Sorry this comment is unrelated. I have been using the elliptical for two weeks because i can use it longer and keep my heart rate at a good pace. However my hips are extremelly sore all day and night. Is this normal? I don't know who to ask…

Scott, I see trainers at my gym doing these "partners" stretch that Chris was doing with you but the clients like screaming of pain and the trainers were going " it's good for you",,,,,,,,I knew something wrong with that so I am glad that Chris talked about stretching and pain

Good vid Scott. I was Wondering if you can do a video later in the future, or give your opinion on dynamic stretching and how it warms up the muscles before intense workouts of competition. I'm a 22 yr old walk-on coach for high school track, and there is an argument going on in the gym and on the .[continued]

track community about dynamic warm-ups vs. old-traditional warmups(4 laps, static stretch)Do you think one of these warmups are more effective than the other? Or does it vary with what your doing. Cus I know Usain Bolt does dynamic without jogging or stretching before a workout.USC Trojans also do like 45 mins of dynamic before practice…. sorry for the long comments.lol

so 'bouncing' tears the micro fibers of your muscle…
Isn't that what you lift for? tear them so they will grow back stronger?
can someone clear that up for me? where's the difference?
