hey could you please do a video on how/ when/ how often to take creatine, even if you don't use it yourself?

what is the difference with this and normal bench press scott?

Reply

@MrHiimdarragh im pretty sure it works your core also

If you lose your balance, one of those dumbells could thump you in the face. That might kinda hurt.

@ihateyaacov i have no idea, i could just imagine that if he did he would make a video on how to, like he did with protein shakes

Reply

@ihateyaacov No he personally doesn't take creatine because of the experience one of his friend's had in high school.

Would love to see scott doing a real "typical" workout. It seems like he does so many light sets I don't know how he got those results. I hate genetics :(.

vigilantezack October 2, 2010 - 4:48 pm

@thegarbageman21 Search through his vids, there are lots of "real" workouts. At least 3 whole body workouts, a band routine, multiple core workouts, back, tris, legs, chest, plyos….. It's all there for the taking buddy.

I'm sorry but I laugh everytinme I see someone in my gym doing bench press off that big ball. It's completely pointless because it lessens the amount of weight you can use which then lowers the effectiveness of muscle contractions. ANd they are very dangerous. Benching off an unstable base is actually foolish and I highly advise everybody to never do this. If you want to work your abs, then just work your abs on the ball, but for god sake don't bench press off this ball. This is an foolish.

idk if its just me but this feels like a total body workout. i felt it in my calves, hams, quads, glutes, core, chest, back, and neck.

Reply
bjf91 October 3, 2010 - 2:10 am

@Njderig The point of this exercise is not to go as heavy as you can, it's to improve your agility, coordination, stability and proprioception rather than a mass exercise. It also puts more variety in your workout and hit your chest differently. Working on an unstable surface isn't dangerous as long as your careful and you do a weight that you can do (Ex: squat on swiss ball or bosu, chest flys, push ups, hamstring curls on swiss ball, etc.).

@Willy3794 hey thanks! yeah i knew this already, but there are so many different videos on how you should take it. im not sure about how often to take, as in long term wise. do i take it every day non stop, or like every day in one month and then not for a month?

Reply
Vaci October 3, 2010 - 11:34 am

@thekoolestguyaaa Stabillity training while hit your chest in a whole new way, and your abs will be working to

@Willy3794 okay thanks! one last question: in the two months when im taking creatine, how often do i take it? once a week?

Reply
thegarbageman21 October 5, 2010 - 3:18 am

@vigilantezack Yeah he has a couple out there but the vast majority is light stuff. You don't get results like he got (unless he is genetic freak which he probably is). Band workouts. . . plyo's . . . please lol. That isn't for anyone looking to build muscle.

Reply
vigilantezack October 5, 2010 - 4:26 am

@thegarbageman21 Dude you still haven't looked up his stuff. I'm telling you, the guy has done oblique twists with ALL the weight on the weight stack. To do overhead triceps extensions he had to put his legs on the machine and lean almost horizontally just so the weight wouldn't fling him against the machine. He probably goes a little light in vids for proper form, but you see him bust nuts in some vids, no joke, 120lbs freeweight chest press * 8…..

Guillaume Robert October 5, 2010 - 6:32 pm

@Njderig not if you are tryin to cutting your body.. but yeah dont do that for mass gaining exercice , with a high pressure on your chest you need to get a bench

@Njderig

I aint got no room for a bench press so this is good for me.

When done I throw / squueze it on top of a wardrobe or in a corner etc

Going heavy on Swiss ball presses in a no-brainier for a number of reasons. However most quality Swiss balls have a slow leak feature that prevents them from rupturing like a balloon.

One of the most common mistakes I see in nearly every gym are people trying to lift considerably more weight than can handle, resulting in sloppy dangerous form which ultimately ends up in injury and permanent joint damage.

Exercise common sense along with your body rather then ego!

Just watched the incline press video too. I've pretty much been doing bench press incorrectly for some time it seems. Thanks.

I love doing this exercise, the only problem is, I started with 40s and am now on 65s, it is tough to curl them up to being on my thighs as a resting position until I roll to into the starting position.  I use my free arm to help bring it up, but when I'm doing the second one, getting soreness in my arm near the elbow now from the strain.

Hi there, the exercise looks good! What do you think is the benefit of doing the chest press this way instead of just on a bench? Are you trying to work on chest strength and core strength at the same time? Muscle coordination between core and upper body?
I am just trying to figure out if I should by a swiss ball for my 'home gym' (consisting of a few kettlebells so far).

what are the benefits on this exercise over a normal floor dumbell press? Has any research been done on this exercise?
