Alright I’ve been hitting the gym hard for about a year now and I’ve been doing a lot of abs. I have followed your videos and developed an 8 pack and starting to get obliques, but I haven’t been getting sore the next day from abs and I have been switching up my routines weekly. Is this normal?

(2:00)- Evan Gillespie
I know many people’s bodies react to different ways of weight training, my question is, is it possible that a certain persons muscles reacts better from less stimulation, say one exercise, three sets? That routine would follow a full body workout format, I’m just wondering because i see myself get bigger from one exercise with three sets then a whole workout dedicated to that muscle, and no website has this question or anything even near it.

(5:08)- Pranjal Neupane
Where do you draw the line between training hard and over-training? Is there a way to tell whether you are over-training or not?

(8:30)- Brendan Graniez
I was wondering if you could do a comparison between Heavy weight lifting with fewer reps and Light weight lifting with a lot of reps.

(9:56)- Nathan Grisham
Once someone gets, say, a body like yours, what does it actually take to maintain it? I know everyone is a little different depending on goals, lifestyle, diet, etc, but maybe on one of your weekly check-in videos you can talk a little about your average daily diet and weekly workout schedule?

What upper abs exercises would you recommend for people with sensitive lower backs? I currently have lower back pain and am finding it hard to find exercises suitable for my current condition.

I disagree with the first comment. He merely has adapted to the physiological stress of his workout. Yes, he should add weight and switch it up, but taking a week off will only detrain unless he is seriously broken down, which is not his case based on maintained performance.

I have nothing against you guys and you have great videos. But a lot of the stuff you said is incorrect. DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) has nothing to do with how effective a workout is, or whether your muscle is repaired or not. You could have worked chest a week ago but still have DOMS, this doesn't mean your chest is not repaired. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Also Scott. No one should be doing a bodypart split like you until they build a solid strength base. I don't care who you are you are not going to get bigger if you don't get stronger, beginners and intermediates should focus on a strength program like madcows or rippetoes. Isolation should be low or else strength will stagnate. Bench, Squat, Row, Pull Ups, Dead Lift is all a beginner should be focusing on, fullbody 3x/week. Rows and Chins are a much better bicep builder than curls.

Hey Scott, I recently got told by a trainer in my gym, and i quote, "You are training your sholders to go front-ward." I guess he meant, slouching shoulders. He claimed he could help me by taking some of his "body sculpting" training sessions. Is there any way i can do something differently, rather than paying this guy? Thanks

@paintur68 not easy but 3 days of moderate to heavy calves 10-20 reps for anywhere from 5-9 sets each day. If your using just body weight go up to 100 reps per set

@gallogto it's called protraction. He is saying your shoulders and chest over power your back. Work on heavy back workouts and post delt movements.

I was really curious about the last question but you didn't answer it 🙁 So, based on the other answers, on average, you workout about a couple hours a day 5-6 days a week?

How do you expect to gain weight without weights? Bodyweight exercises won't get you a bigger body.
