@nickybthatsme Such an ignorant comment pisses me off. You obviously don't have much fitness experience. The point of this exercise isn't to go heavy, it's to work your core muscles which are the most underworked by most people yet most important muscles in your body. It's clear you don't have any regard to the aspects of fitness, maybe you should realize that balance and flexibilty are much more important than muscular strength. Also realize that each exercise has a purpose.

Squatting heavy without the ball will work your stabilisers and core much better than squatting light with the ball. This might be a fun trick to play around with but the gains will be pretty minimal.
I just completed a 8 wk program and did 4 reps with 315 on the bosu with no wraps. Check out youtube, "bosu squat with 315". You are right, it does no good unless you crank up the intensity.

You people are ignorant who don't think that it helps. You all probably have legs 4 times skinnier than your arms so your legs would snap trying this. This is way better than doing just a regular squat. I started out not being able to stand on it normally. Now I'm squatting over 100lbs on the Bosu ball doing 100 squats on it per session. It improves your balance, strengthens your core as well as your legs. It gets your heart rate going really well and makes you stronger in general.

Be sure to have your chiropractor on speed dial if some idiot trainers tells you to do this. Just because it is possible does not mean that it should be done. The guy even says that you have ot be careful to not hurt yourself. This guy is an idiot. Just like most trainers. Everyone, jsut go study what Rippetoe teaches.
Love the balance needed to complete these. Totally super-set them with Leg Presses and other regular heavy weighted leg lifts.
I love Bosu squats as an exercise. They're amazing for core strength, but just an FYI that the intended maximum weight load for the Bosu Trainer is 350 lbs 🙂 Safety first 🙂
I started doing bosu ball exercises as part of my ACL physio rehab….and absolutely loving it now….started doing squats in 3 days….impressive, I must say <self pat on the back> 🙂
Please dont do these, guys. Terrible fad exercise that it extremely dangerous. All it takes it a little slip on the bosu ball and your spinal column can be severely injured

When i do bosu ball squats, even with just my body weight and no bars, the ball shakes violently everytime i go down even if its just a little bit. 😱
