By combining burn sets with high volume and forced repetitions you will be able to make faster gains when it comes to strength and size. Be sure to drink plenty of water and definitely warm-up your shoulders before attempting this routine. Now the first set of your Barbell Bench Press and Incline Barbell Bench Press is going to be a “BURN SET”. This means you’re going to bench your max weight for 8 reps, then immediately drop the weight just enough so you can get under the bar and perform 8 more reps and you will repeat this drop three times. By doing this you’re going to really put your muscular endurance to the test while recruiting more muscle fibers for maximum chest stimulation! Are you ready Nation? This kind of superset workout got to be at later level after you gain some muscle mass right? Seem too much for beginner like my self.
Scott a question – what's happening to the muscle when improving at dumbell presses with 1 minute rest periods. Say within a couple of months you can do all 4 sets with 60 pounds 10-12 reps. It's tricky though because by that time you'll be able to do more reps in the first and second set lol. Anyway, are the pecs getting stronger or just gaining endurance? So the next step would be start with 70lbs for the first 2 sets, then drop the weight a little to get 10 -12 reps for the 3rd and 4th set. Just curious how this affects the muscle comparatively to doing an exercise with longer rest. But I believe gains are gains.
Hey Scott, I did this workout last night, WOW. question I have is when you do your medicine ball pushups, is it ok to drop to your knees to finish your reps, and also with the chest dips, is ok to use the weighted machine to help ya push back up to finish reps. it's a killer, thanks

Hey Scott I don't know if you still look at these old videos but, in one of your form videos you said not to touch chest and just go to 90 degrees. Did something change your mind or do you just go down to your chest now because your chest is bigger and easier to reach? I'm a lanky 6ft 1 guy so down to chest is a huge rom for me.

On the dips, it looked like the torso was coming back upright perpendicular to the floor. Don't we want it leaning forward when we come back up (as well as when we go down) into the dip?
Looks like you're trying to beat a dead horse… doing drop sets is fastest way to over train… difficult to recover from… that's not a high-volume workout anyway… bench press is not the most efficient way to build pectoral muscles… you'v turned bench pressing into ego lifting!
You're doing a drop set with a rest pause and Force reps on every set…. Total nitwits at work!
