Where Did My New Gains Come From? | Honest Physique Update – ScottHermanFitness

by YouTube Team

The biggest obstacle in your life holding you back from building muscle and losing fat is that thing between your ears. If the brain was a muscle, it would be the most stubborn muscle to grow. Even more stubborn than Omar’s calves. (love you Omar). But just like training your body, there are ways to train your mind so you can better focus on your training AND be more productive in your daily activities. It’s been only 4 weeks and I feel like I have changed my entire outlook on training and life just by getting it done at 6am. I hope this video helps you guys with your struggles and helps you become more focused too.

Ohh, I've learned to block everything out when at the gym. It first helped me after a hard breakup and knee surgery when I couldn't do any other sports.
I just busted my ass off so hard that I didn't have time or strength to think about anything. It still is like that.
And Scott, yeah, U look way bigger now. God job!

Scott your spot on. I switched to 6am training 4 years ago. Broken up into 6 shorter workouts a week and train traps 3 times a week. Never seen so much natty gains and it's primarily due to training before the days events start. Keep it up Scott

SPOILER ALERT: you don't just suddenly grow muscles in a month after training for 20 years without the use of PEDs. The reason his shoulders and traps are suddenly responding is because these muscles have a higher amount of androgenic receptors, not because he decided to work out at 6 am. These androgenic receptors respond extremely well to androgenic anabolic steroids.
He got tired of not getting any gains when he puts massive amounts of effort into his training so he decided to do a cycle of low test, so what.
He also said he was barely awake when he got to the gym and that this somehow made him stronger. This is the opposite of what is true. Training within a couple of hours waking up is not recommended because you are weaker. The ONLY way you would be stronger is because you used some sort of Performance Enhancing Drug. All the scientific research done on the matter shows you're stronger later in the day, not in the morning. Try this test yourself: the next time you wake up from a nights rest, try to squeeze your hand as hard as you can and see how strong you are. You won't be strong at all, and this effect gradually diminishes over a few hours.

Traps and shoulders suddenly grow in a month and making new "PR's" in the morning, these are indicators of drug use.
Of course, I don't know he's using anything "extra" for sure, but I would consider it very likely.
Scott seems like a good guy I wouldn't think less of him if he tried some juice.

Yo feel so good is because your testosterone is highest in the morning(everyone for that matter especially men) and thorough out the day it declines.

I agree with Scott about the transition. I also prefer morning (0400 wake up) workouts because I’m fresh and can 100% focus on the workout and not on life. The first 2-4 weeks of massively changing your routine is difficult but the main things I found helped are:
1. Have my alarm (I use a radio alarm) away from your bed so you must stand to turn it off
2. Prepare everything for the gym st night except for supplement shakes
3. Prepare a motivational speech/video on YouTube to get you excited when you do wake up early

I'm a 5 am gym rat for like 5 years. Best time to train, Almost empty gym, full of energy, and as you said, Even on days that I´m on Intermittent Fasting, I feel really load with energy. I read that there are bodies that can store glucose than others, I don't know, but to me, rn I just CAN'T train at other hour.

Congrats Scott on breaking that natty limit. I would much rather workout in the morning too but unfortunately I get up at 4am to go to work. Then workout after work about 3 or 4pm. Any advice on how I can brake the limit too? Not to mention I have 4 kids and a wifey😁

I loved training in the mornings, but with my new job I would probably be stressed and be constantly checking the time to get to work on time haha

After 10 years of natural trening and dedicated life i will just say something NATURAL IS WASTE OF TIME.
I spend so much time trening work hard , eat clean do anything and still not happy how I look.
I know that it is a fight with a mirror but still progress is very slow and still I did not give up.
and now that I have experience and everything will say people dont wona waste time and have result.
I think if they go naturally they need a lot of resignation and everything and it lasts as eternity.

in the end what is natural?
What we drink maybe 20 supplements instead of taking one forbidden and being happy and have result.
20 supplements destroys the body more than one illegal substance.
When you look perfect who will trust you that you do it natural.
And if you will be someday trainer what you will train one person 10 years to look same as you.

Why are your "first thing in the morning" workouts be better than after 6-8 hours of focused work at the computer? I'd say it's because the brain uses glucose, just like the body. And there is only so much glucose in the system. You may be the type of "brain" that requires a whole lot of effort to focus, get things done, execute. So after hours and hours of this, just not enough glucose left over for the best possible workouts. However, you are obviously trained athletically, so your body thrives on the available AM glucose, and you use that energy source efficiently, leaving plenty for the mental activity to come. Plus the hyper-oxygenation that comes during workouts charges up the system and you are "energized" after workouts, better able to focus. Add a nutritious meal and you'll have all the glucose you need for the brain work for the rest of the day. Plus consider this: you fatigue more after a long period of brain work (as opposed to energized after a workout). So that means a much better, more efficient and restorative nights sleep, meaning more gains. Ok how'd I do with my theory?
