CARiFiT Babywearing Workout 1 | Postnatal Workout – The Body Coach TV

by YouTube Team

I’ve teamed up with postnatal fitness experts CARiFIT to create some awesome workouts aimed at new mums (but as you can see, there’s no reason us dads can’t get involved).

CARiFiT is a postnatal specific workout used and endorsed by doctors, physios, midwives and babywearing experts:

**Remember, there is no rush to get back into exercising after giving birth, it’s important that you listen to your body and allow time to recover.**

Exercise after giving birth should always be safe, sensible and relevant to the needs of your body – listen to your body and talk to your midwife, health visitor or GP before starting anything too intense.

IMPORTANT: If you are new to babywearing or unsure of the T.I.C.K.S guide for safe babywearing, click here to find the safety checklist:

Great work Joe. I’m pregnant at the moment & looking forward to getting back into it after baby arrives. Still exercising through pregnancy but modified & yoga! So far so good!

Oddly enough, 35 years ago one day a week I had no child care the first 2 hours of my work and I had my son with me. I wore him like a papoose and sure wish I had this support . It was truly bonding for us and he never was a problem .

Love it! Thanks for making videos like this so accessible. I’ve just done this for the first time- my first exercise in months (I’m seven weeks post partum and extremely sleep deprived!!)- did it without baby as she’s fast asleep (and I was desperate to do something) and I’m sweating!! Looking forward to doing it again tomorrow- with baby! 👍🏼💪🏼

Thank you!!!! So glad to see this workout! I struggled so much to get back exercising after I had my baby and wish I had found this back 1 year ago. My son is now 1 so it will be a little hard to carry him (over 20lb) but I’ll definitely try on my own with some weights and keep this saved for when we have our second!

I have a belly the size of Joe's with the added baby. I must start these exercises.

I am older person having back injury, I like these can keep my back straight and no jumps. Slow motion is also needeed can't do anything fast without hurting my back.

Joe, it’s worth adding that some of us suffer from weak joints during post party recovery due to the relaxin coursing through the system. I find my knees are pretty sore when wearing my baby in the sling and walking for a few hours. Could we also add moderations to these exercises as these seem really heavy on the knees. Thanks both.

Would I be able to do this workout carrying my 16mo on my back? Or is it only for front carries with smaller babies?
