The best and only type of cardio that i do is HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). It can be done on the street, bike, pool, and you burn A LOT more calories in a less period of time (10 to 15 minutes max).
This way you will burn calories instead of the muscle. Actually, you will help your whole body to develop, because you move everything with such an intensity that will cause a boost on your testosterone levels, like crazy. And 24 hours after the session, your body will keep on the fat burning state.
Of course, this isn't for everybody. It's very intense, so those who have any heart problems should avoid HIIT sessions. But the results are INSANE, especially if you have a high protein diet.

I recently got into doing some boxing for cardio because i hate regular cardio shit and i love it its fun af something i can actually enjoy and its a shoulder workout of its self i feel my shoulders burn probably more than when im working them out or same👍🏽
I get this question all the time on IG … I tel lthem to get in the the boys and get in a game of basketball/tennis/wallball whatever or they can do some simple sprints… cardio can be anything that is going to get your hear rate up continuously to get you to the point of burning fat.. this fitness stuff is easy guys no reason to make it hard..

Why I love my dogs. After every session in the gym we take a long hike through the woods and I will usually carry a kettlebell with me (just to carry or maybe to hit swings in the woods) or the dogs and I will find sticks and do fetching ladders.
your body will breakdown protein for energy (burn muscle as some of you say) if the metabolic demands are not being met by other sources of energy (glucose, lipids etc.) Regardless of whether you are on a step mill or boxing. Nutrition and a smart programme is the key aspect to prevent muscle loss during cardio
