NICK A QUESTION, ????

With his legs so far apart don't the legs lose a significant degree of lifting strength.

Which would make the lift even more insane.

Perhaps with most lifters their so large I never noticed their legs being that far apart.

Thank for answering

Anyone have any clue what the "average" gain is pulling from a stiff bar to a bar like this? I mean, your not ACTUALLY lifting that much weight off the floor at one time.

Leverage is the answer! Stop bitching about Sumo Pullers!

Try it and see what will happen to your quads, hamstrings, groins and glutes! When I train first few weeks, my groins hurt so bad, I can’t even fuck my girlfriend properly 😑

Sumo deadlift is for people with short arms, legs and long ass back!

Jesus Christ, why am I just finding out about this guy now…..idk what makes this more impressive the fact that it was overhand grip and not mixed, or the fact that he did it without a belt….I know it was sumo style but jesus that is strength!!!

Him not being this size makes it most impressive. So much smaller than Eddie and Brian and Thor. Cailer and him are kindred

Im sure this has been mentioned numerous times before, but this whole sumo thing makes the lifts look much easier, and the range of motion is a hell of a lot smaller than the traditional deadlift…if someone ever does beat Halls 1100 pounds on the sumo, which they probably wont, it really needs to be credited as a different type of lift

He pulls about 100 lbs less without those wide ass silver plates lol look at Boss of Bosses

Sumo is used mainly for people with shorter arms or just are people who are just shorter overall

my only complaint is how his knees snap straight around the middle of the lift. it's like watching a noob on the leg press lock out his knees, just teasing to break.

Hook grip is easier than mixed grip imo. Once you get used to the pain of the hook grip you can lift so much more than a mixed grip. And im speaking from my own experience

Many powerlifters doing sumo shoot their hips up while pulling. Yuri hips stays locked and moves in a sync with the bar. Uses all his quads and hips to lock it.

Didn't use thin plates tho and might have been a deadlift bar (not stiff). And… sumo is cheating. Even so, his strength is still of the charts. But thin plates, stiff bar and conventional make the lift much harder. IPF, baby.
